About

I am a strategic communications professional and former television journalist with a 20-year track record of turning complicated issues into compelling stories to cause change—and helping others to do the same.

Following a career in news production at NBC and MSNBC, I spent over a decade working as a multi-faceted communications strategist. I served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Friends of the High Line, a public park in Manhattan, and as a Vice President at Fenton, a public interest communications firm. As an independent consultant, I conceived campaigns for numerous national and international organizations and provided strategy and planning for conferences such as the first TEDWomen and the first Girls Not Brides conference, organized by The Elders to end child marriage in Ethiopia. I continue to work with leaders of social justice movements on a wide range of issues including economic development, housing affordability, recidivism, education, LGBTQ, and women’s equality.

I am now working exclusively to help individuals prepare for public speaking and/or media interviews. I have worked with a wide range of influencers in this capacity—from corporate CEOs, to leaders of non-profit organizations, to people unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight.

MY METHOD

As a communications strategist, former journalist, and trained actor, I understand what it takes to make the strongest impression when speaking in or via the media.

I believe it all comes down to a strong, clear message first, and to a speaker who has nimble control over that message.

I believe in storytelling as a crucial tool.

And I believe that every individual has to marry the lessons of good public speaking with their own strengths and personality to be the most natural, impactful speaker and to bring their message to life.
